Privacy Policy

Jotdown is a daily email writing practice. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have. We've tried to write it plainly.

What we collect

• Email address — required to send you prompts and receive your replies.
• Your writing — the text you reply with each day is stored so we can generate a response and, if you choose, display it on the community page.
• Pen name and avatar — optional. Set on the profile page and shown publicly only on the community page.
• Email metadata — timestamps of when emails were sent and replied to, used to manage the sending schedule.

What we don't collect

We don't use tracking pixels, analytics scripts, or third-party advertising SDKs. We don't collect your IP address, browser data, or device information. We don't sell your data.

How we use your information

• Sending you a daily writing prompt.
• Generating a written response to what you share.
• Showing your writing on the community page, if you've opted in.
• Sending an occasional nudge email if you haven't replied that day (you can turn this off).

Third-party services

We use a small number of external services to run Jotdown:

• Resend — sends and receives email on our behalf.
• Neon — stores your data in a PostgreSQL database.
• Vercel — hosts the website and API.
• Google Gemini — generates the written feedback response to your entries.

Your email address and writing may be processed by these services to deliver the product. We don't share your data with anyone else.

Your entries and privacy

Entries are private by default. You can choose to make individual entries public — they'll appear on the community page under your pen name. A link in each feedback email lets you toggle privacy per entry.

Deleting your data

To delete your account and all associated data, email us at hello@replydaily.email. We'll remove everything within 7 days.

Unsubscribing

Every email includes an unsubscribe link. Clicking it stops all future emails immediately. Your past entries are retained but no new prompts will be sent.
